Community Outreach

Community Outreach Through the resources God has abundantly provided, Blessed Hope is able to reach out to the community with needed provisions.

Since 2006, churches, organizations and private individuals have worked with Blessed Hope to serve those in need of a meal. Meals are provided at noon and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. From mid-September to Memorial Day weekend, dinner is served at 4:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. Over the summer (end of May to mid-September), dinner is served at 4:00 PM on SUNDAYS only.

A food pantry, open three days per week, provides emergency food to anyone needing help. There are no geographic requirements. State identification and proof of current address is required for the person picking up the food on the first visit. Proof of current address is required for all members of the home by the second visit to the pantry. Food pantry hours are Monday and Thursday¸ 1:00 - 4:00 PM and 10 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays. No cash support of any kind is available, however there is a social worker on site Monday, Thursday and Friday afternoons to help with resource information.

On Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, you may take a shower or do laundry at the church. You need to check in with the office and sign up. Two loads of laundry per week may be done, but must be finished by 4:00 PM. Any clothing left in washer or dryer overnight will be added to the clothes closet.

There is a clothing room open during pantry hours and at mealtimes. Clean, gently used items are available as they come in. The bread and produce shelves are also available during those times. These are all supplied by donation. As we get them in, we share them with all who come in.

The Community Meeting Room is home to AA meetings at 8:30 AM, Monday through Sunday. CASA meets on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. CASA's purpose is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for compassion, understanding and recovery from "addictive-compulsive" dishonest behavior; primarily shoplifting, fraud, kleptomania and embezzlement. NA meets every Saturday at 7:00 PM.

We are happy to work with those needing community service hours for school, work or court requirements. Those volunteers are very helpful to us, and we are grateful for their time, whatever the reason.
